No way for us to know....you'd have to call the IRS and ask them for details.

Sometimes you just get unlucky and it's kicked out randomly for study...... or....sometimes, ID theft can be an issue, sometimes folks claiming education credits can result in extra scrutiny, sometimes an "ex" will claim the same dependents that you did, sometimes they think you might have missed some income and are checking into that first.....etc...etc
______________________________________
Congress penalized the IRS by cutting the budget for some past questionable acts by the IRS...problem is, that resulted in cuts to IRS staff that process tax files...making their ability to quickly respond to us taxpayers, even worse.

I had no additional credits etc..I have filed the same way for years! On the 17th when I called they said it would be in my account on the 23rd then today they say something completely different. Why even say 60 days if it's more than 120 days! So frustrating
