For my 2017 return, I e-filed everything, but was rejected the first time due to the lack of a 8842 form to claim my son as a dependent. I amended my return online, both state and federal was accepted the same day. IRS.gov says they are still being processed.

TurboTax does not receive any feedback from the IRS regarding your tax return after it has been accepted. So only the IRS knows when you will receive your refund. When you went through the FILE section of the software you had the chance to enter how you want your refund--by direct deposit or a mailed check. If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, you can only get a direct deposit.
