how can I re-open and edit my return since turbo tax has locked it out? I have not filed the return yet. I want to make the change before I file. Can I have access to the original 2016 return so i do not have to send an amended return.

You can get back into your original return using the steps here below:

Log into your TurboTax account and click My TurboTax at the top
You should be on the Tax Timeline now
Scroll down to SOME THINGS YOU CAN DO section
Click Add a state (not really adding one, just a way to get back into return)
Once you are in, click on Federal Taxes tab, Wages & Income and Edit/Add next to the W-2 section there.
On the next screen, click Add another W-2
