topic Question about an amended return in After you file

I ammended a tax return for my form 8962. It stated that I am owed a refund of 205.00 after doing this. However, my original refund of about 5000.00 is no longer on there. Does anyone know if the 205.00 is in addition to the 5000.00 or did something happen that wiped out my other refund? Thank you.

When you open up an amendment, it assumes everything in the past is done and it begins at 0. This means the extra refund is in addition to the original amount on the return.
