In the CD/Download versions of TurboTax, please follow these steps to get the data from your 2017 return to 2018:

On the opening screen of TurboTax, click the blue box Start a New Return.
On the next screen, Good News! We Found Your Tax Info, TurboTax will search for 2017 files and list them.
Click the Transfer Return box next to the file.
If your 2017 return does not appear on the list, you can browse for your return by clicking the Browse box.
