Can I retrieve a legit document stating my extension was approved for 2021? My loan officer is requesting proof.

I received an email from Turbotax indicating the extension was approved but it does not list my name or anything.

If the IRS did not reject the Form 4868 rejection request then the IRS accepted and approved the extension. The IRS does NOT send any type of confirmation that they Accepted/Approved the extension request. A loan officer should know this.

You can get a copy of the Form 4868 and with the copy of the TurboTax email showing the extension was Accepted by the IRS is your proof.

To access your current year online tax return sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

When you sign onto your online account and land on the Tax Home web page, scroll down and click on Add a state.

This will take you back to the 2021 online tax return.

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen. Then click on Print Center. Then click on Print, save or preview this year's return. Choose the option Include government and TurboTax worksheets

Did you make a payment as expected with request for Extension of time?

Then, your IRS account transcript will show that an extension was requested.
