Hello,

I filed my 2019 taxes yesterday an when I was finalizing an on the payment options it said that the total was $40. I was looking over my statements today an it charged me $40 for state an $40 for federal. Can you tell me why i had to pay for both filings?

If you use any of the TurboTax online editions other than the Free edition then the state return is an additional $40. Since you paid $40 for the federal tax return you had to be using the Deluxe online edition which is not the Free edition.
