Hello I am married and am on ssd. My husband doesn't want to file yet bc there is an issue with garnishment. He had an appt with irs and it was canceled bc of the virus. What do we need to do to get the stimulus check. Also I have 2 kids that get my ssd ancillary benefits will the stimulus for them have deposited to my account automatically?

If you have not filed for 2019, the IRS will take information from your 2018 tax return to make the stimulus payment. If your children are dependents on your return, then you will receive the stimulus benefits for them as well.

Thank you so much for your quick response!!! I should have clarified... my husband and I have two different bank accounts ( I'm tend to overspend so he doesn't trust me. Lol ) so since my children get my ssd as ancillary payments that means me and my children will get the direct deposit for us in my account ( as long as we didn't make too much, are citizens, all the criteria met ) ?? Then my husband will get his mailed to him since he didn't put his account information in when he did his 2018 tax return? I can't convince him to put his account information in because he thinks they will have access to garnish if they have access to deposit.
