Completing form 1040X

I need to amend my 2020 tax return, and I use TurboTax CD/Download for it.

I filled out my original 2020 tax return in the TurboTax CD/Download, pressed “Amend a return”, and made changes as needed.

My question is: in form 1040X, the fields “Original amount (reported or as previously adjusted)” are supposed to be filled automatically by the software or I should enter the numbers manually? These fields look like they suppose to be filed by hand.

they should be filled out by the software automatically...... did you have your original return loaded on the screen before beginning to fill out the 1040X?
