Third Stimulus

Hello,

In January my wife & I each received individual IRS letters saying we received Third Stimulus checks in 2021.

However, we do not have and there is nothing in our bank account that shows that we did receive it.

I listed on my 2021 that we did not receive it, and I am worried they will deny my claim, which would put me into the category of owing taxes instead of receiving a refund. With the amount of time they take, that would be a lot of penalties.

What do I do when they say we received but it didn't reach us?

Try checking your online account with the IRS

If the IRS says you got $1400 per person last year but you did not receive it you can have it traced.

Received a $600 stimulus payment in early Jan. 2021. Received another stimulus payment for $1400 in March 2021. Got one letter 1444-C. Did not get a letter notice 6475. Should I have received another stimulus payment? and if so, how do I get past the step if I did not receive a letter 6475. What do I put in the amount box if I don't know what the letter had in it. Getting an account with ID +IRS has been impossible. Cannot check anything there.

cannot check online. cannot get an account completed with IRS. IRS no longer has IRS Get My Payment tool.

@Thisisstupid-1 When you are working on your 2021 tax return you are not being asked about that $600 payment. You are only being asked about the one for $1400. That was the 3rd EIP payment. If you received the $1400 you cannot get it again--unless you have added a dependent or have another person on your 2021 return who was not on your 2020 return.

If you cannot get your letter 6475 then check your bank account. The deposit for $1400 per person would have occurred sometime about mid-March of 2021 or later in 2021.
