Foreign Tax

From an account with an Investment Firm (Fidelity), I have some income and tax in "foreign countries" (countries not specified, so I used RIC.)

I was able to enter the income, but where do I enter the Foreign Tax paid?

Yes, you can post and get credit for foreign taxes paid.

On the menu bar on the left that shows.
1. My Info
2. Federal
3. State
4. Review
5. File
Select Tax Tools
On the drop-down select Tools
There are 4 green boxes
Select Tax Topics
Type Foreign Taxes
This will start you on the interview.

Thank you for responding to my question.

I tried to follow your instructions, but cannot find "Tax Tools" on the TurboTax screen. I took a screenshot, but cannot find a way to attach it to this message.

I also went to the Search function - which returned miscellaneous topics on my search for Tax Tools, but nothing relevant.

To see Tools in the left pane in TurboTax Online, then:

If you’re on a screen that displays categories Personal Info, Income & Expenses, and others in the center of the screen, and none of those categories are open, click the dropdown next to any of the categories, then select the Review/Edit or Pick up where you left off button. If one of the categories is open and has a Continue button, select the button
This will produce a pane on the left side of your screen
In the left pane, select Tax Tools
Then, under that, select Tools

Ah! I did not know that "online" vs. "desktop" made a difference.

I am on a desktop version. Maybe this does not have Tax Tools??

Click the "Search" icon at the top right of your screen. Type in "Foreign tax credit" and use the "jump to..." link at the top of the results.

It can also be found in the "Deductions & Credits" tab.
"I'll choose what I work on"
Scroll down to "Estimates and other taxes paid" and
"Start" the "Foreign Tax Credit" topic.
