TurboTax for 2017 is no longer available. Some other tax software companies might still sell software for 2017.

If you see TurboTax for 2017 for sale somewhere, don't buy it. It will not be the final version, but you will not be able to update it. You also will not be able to get the software for a state tax return. And, of course, there is no support from TurboTax.

2017 software is no longer available from TurboTax. It is too late to get a 2017 refund---that has been forfeited. If you owe tax due you still need to pay it though. You can use the paper forms and complete them by hand.

TurboTax does not support tax year 2017. You may be able to get the TurboTax software from a reputable vender such as Amazon. However, there is no guarantee that you will be able to get any updates or a state download with the 2017 software.

Note that if the 2017 tax return has a tax refund, the refund will not be paid since the filing is outside the 3 year window for filing for a 2017 tax refund.

If you have taxes owed with the 2017 return you need to seek out a local tax professional to assist you in completing the tax return.

"Should I just fill out the forms and send them in?"

That's one option, if you feel comfortable doing it.

Another option is to go price tax professionals like Enrolled Agents or CPAs to see what they would charge for a 2017 return. It's likely to be pricey, though (although the CPA is likely to be more expensive than the EA).

Another option is to go to a retail store front for tax and see if they still have the 2017 software available. That might be a good compromise on cost versus convenience.
