control number recognition

I have asked this on live support, but i want to get this confirmed...

After typing the control number from box d on w2, and clicking continue, the w2 would import if the control number is recognized. Is that correct? i tried a few times and i was just taken to the next page and it was always all blank, no boxes auto-filled. Also, i have a 2-row control number here. This is for a NJ w2 so this is the first time i had trouble with this. I usually have a PA w2. i work remotely from PA. Company is in NJ.

Thanks, but I had a control number. It was 2 rows-worth. I tried different combinations and then just numbers but it didnt import. It was not blank. It just doesnt work. Maybe because it is a smaller company.

Sometimes data just won't import. You've probably spent more time trying to import than it would take to Manually Enter your W-2.

Yes, exactly. I finally gave up and just entered it manually! SMaller company. I never had an issue with the last PA company i worked for. They were bigger.
