My W2 cannot upload

When I tried to upload W2 using Turbotax premier on windows laptop, it always returns "Please wait" on my desktop and I wait forever still not see any progress. I can upload 1099 without issue.

Are you trying to import it? Just enter it manually.

It's just as fast and easy to manually enter a W2. And the import might come in wrong. You could have manually entered it in the time it took trying to import it and posting this question.

Don't try to import it. At the bottom pick Change How I enter my Form

Then on the next screen pick I'll Type it in Myself

To add a W2 just type w2 (small W) in the search box at the top of your return and click on Jump To the W2

OR To Add a W2 enter it under

Federal Taxes on the left side

Wages & Income

Then Wages and Salaries- Click the Start or Update button

Thank you for the reply. I can not get to the manual input of W2. After I hit "work on my W2", it always returns "Please wait".

If that doesn't work, I'd try the "Skip for now" first.

Go do some other income items, like 1099-INT, 1099-DIV etc.

Then return to the W-2 section later. They won't present that screen when you come back to it later.

Save your tax file just before going back to enter the W-2, so that what' you've entered in the meantime is locked in.

You can contact the IRS and ask for a wage transcript, or contact your company for another copy of the W2.

Additionally, please visit How can I get a copy of my wage and tax statements (Form W-2)? for more instructions on how you can get a copy of your W-2 from the social Security Administration since your employer also submits a copy of your W-2 to SSA. However, there is a $90 fee for the replacement of your W-2.

You should contact your employer and ask for another copy of your W-2. If you cannot get one from them, you should follow the link provided by our Expert @AamilD prior to your post.

35 minutes and still cant upload...when I type w-2 or w2 it is a circular reference...you should be paying me not me paying you for frustrations
