It's March 26th, using the Deluxe version on a Mac, fully updated, and there is no Schedule H to be found anywhere. Searching for it just takes us to the forums and they have nothing that helps.

IF it exists, can someone please tell me, step-by-step, what to click on in the app? We entered our nanny's name and what we paid her, but there is no Schedule H option, nothing that says Nanny Tax or Household Employee Tax, no ability to enter our Employer ID number, nothing at all with those words in the app. Aside from our own taxes, this could damage her own filing.

Why did I see a response on here saying Schedule H won't be ready until 3/17. H&R Block says it will be ready in their software by 2/7. It looks like the paper form was finalized late last year. 3/17 is ridiculous.

I called the Support phone number but couldn't get an definitive information. Guess I'll be buying H&R Block's software and filing with them on Friday if I haven't received any information from TurboTax. Very disappointing, but a 6 week delay in filing can mean a much bigger delay in receiving a refund. My state sometimes runs out of money and drags their feet, and I've heard the IRS is behind.

This is not a delay caused by TurboTax: it is the IRS.

H&R Block's site says it will be available in their software on 2/3, which is tomorrow. I believe the IRS published the paper copy last year.

The bottom line is that no one on this forum, not even the TurboTax employees who post here, know anything about the forms availability schedule. (The layers of bureaucracy we have to go through to try and convince the company that a question or a calculation is incorrect is ridiculous.) Maybe TurboTax can’t hire enough developers and they have to prioritize other issues. Maybe the IRS is punishing TurboTax for dropping out of the FreeFile Alliance. Maybe the date is wrong because TurboTax got bad information, or the list hasn’t been updated correctly, and the form will be in the program sooner than expected. We just don’t know. If you believe you will have satisfactory performance with another company‘s product, then switch. It’s the only language the Intuit executives will understand.

An update - I filed last night with H&R Block, and there were no issues with Schedule H.

That said, I definitely plan to go back to Turbo Tax next year. Maybe it's just because I've used it for 17 years, but I think it's much easier to use than H&R Block. H&R Block had a couple of differences that reduced my return by a few dollars. I think TurboTax had those items done correctly, but I couldn't figure out how to correct them in H&R Block. It was only a few dollars, so I wasn't motivated enough to call them for help.

I use a Payroll service, they file the Schedule H and pay all taxes due (from my checking). That said, can I just not report the information on my form 1040, because when I do, TT form does not have a line item where I can report the taxes I paid, so TT is adding them to my taxes due.
