I cannot e-file because Final Review keeps popping up before e-filing showing two errors, I "correct" those errors but then it pops up again.

This pertains to Schedule C, self-employed healthcare, for both my wife and myself (2 schedule C's) The program says that it cannot allocate the expense between the two Schedule Cs, so I do it myself, but it still shows up as an error. If I remove and entry from that field on the Schedule Cs it still shows an error.

Override is also grayed out for the entries.

At this point I'd just like to turn off final review and e-file. Is there a way to do that?

Please clarify where you are manually entering the allocated self-employed health insurance on Schedule C (what line number). Have you reported this expense somewhere else on your return as well?

Unfortunately, you cannot skip SmartCheck if you wish to e-file your return.

The number showing an error is Schedule C, the Qualified Business Income Deduction Smart Worksheet, Line 5a (one for my wife and one for me). The data was entered in only in my and my wife's 1095-As (one for each of us), which per the program are linked to each Schedule C. But the numbers did not transfer over to the Schedule C QBIDW, but instead the field was showing up blank as an error. Filling in the correct numbers does not correct the error.

The total of those net payments on the 1095-As shows up over on 1040, line 31, Schedule 3 line 9, and 8962. 8962 is applicable because we both received Pandemic Unemployment Insurance in 2021.

I don't believe anything was filled in by me other than the 1095-As and the Schedule C when it asked for the amount for each of us (saying the program couldn't calculate that for some reason--even though it comes from the 1095-As.)

One thing I notice not filled out is Form 8962--Allocation of Policy Amounts Information section, which sounds like it might need to be filled out. But nothing transferred over.

One thing I have not

What you say makes sense, except that it's two schedule C's (I don't have a Schedule A), given that doesn't show up on the printed returns that would be used for mailing. But the problem is it shows up as an error during the program review, with or without the allocation, preventing an e-filing. You cannot e-file if any errors exist.

It would be helpful to have a TurboTax ".tax2021" file that is experiencing this issue.

You can send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information.  If you would like to do this, here are the instructions:

Go to the black panel on the left side of your program and select Tax Tools.

Then select Tools below Tax Tools.

A window will pop up which says Tools Center.

On this screen, select Share my file with Agent.

You will see a message explaining what the diagnostic copy is.  Click okay through this screen and then you will get a Token number.

Reply to this thread with your Token number. This will allow us to open a copy of your return without seeing any personal information.

We will then be able to see exactly what you are seeing and we can determine what exactly is going on in your return and provide you with a resolution.

Since you received Unemployment Compensation, you are eligible to receive the full amount of your premiums refunded to you through the Premium Tax Credit. Therefore, your SE Health Insurance Premiums are actually $0.

To correct this so you can e-file your return, you need to uncheck the I'm self-employed and bought a Marketplace plan box for each 1095-A you entered.

To get to this box in TurboTax Home & Business you can follow these steps:

Within your return use the magnifying glass icon to search 1095a and click the Jump to link that appears in the results

Click Continue through the question and Edit for the first 1095-A shown on the next screen

Click Continue through the amount entry

Uncheck the I'm self-employed and bought a Marketplace plan box and click Continue

Do the same for the other 1095-A

You can then go straight to the Smart Check by clicking it on the sub-menu at the top of the screen

@Goodspike
