Employer submitted wrong tax information.

Hoping for some advice. My tax return is being held by the IRS, they have advised me it is under additional review and that's it. I contacted a TA and was told that my W-2 does not match the income my employer reported to the IRS. I was on disability for 3 months last year and my work did not report those wages. So, my employer admitted that ADP did in fact make an error and that "it is being worked on". That was over a month ago. I have frequently asked for updates and they just keep telling me that same thing. Is there anything I can do? My work verified that my W-2 is correct, so my return won't need to be amended, but the IRS won't issue a refund if the numbers aren't matching up... I just really need the money and I feel like they aren't doing anything to get me my refund.

How awful! I suggest contacting your Congressional representative for help. You can call [phone number removed]. IRS will listen to your representative.
