The desktop version of TT Premier has a bug as far as Tennessee (and perhaps certain other) state tax. Tennessee is among the several states that do not have a state income tax, yet TT premier will attempt to download such software, reporting only that "software is up to date". When the user then tries to start doing the taxes, the opportunity to pay for and download a state tax form is offered. Clearly TT should respond that no tax is required; the state tax number should go to zero, and there should be no further interest within the program in state taxes.

You are correct. Tennessee eliminated the Hall Tax for years beginning January 1, 2021 or later. You can skip Tennessee. If you are unable to skip, tap the Review tab and continue.

You can also delete a state by selecting File in the top left and Remove State Return.

True, there are ways of getting past the Sate Tax, but it is clear that TT Premier doesn't know that TN in particular, or perhaps any other, states that have no tax. It should handle the no tax states better.
