Hi there, I was a full time student in 2021 and had chosen thee same in the Turbo Tax interview. So my Personal Wks form Part II Question 3 shows Yes, which is right. But when I was asked about deductions for student expenses, I navigated half way through that interview by choosing yes for "do you want to enter your higher education expenses?", but realized that I should not be taking deductions as my mom paid for my education expenses. So I went back and chose Yes for the question "Did you have any higher education expenses?" but "No" for "Do you want to enter your higher education expenses?".

But when I look into the forms, the "Student Info Wk" form Part I Question 1 has "No" for "Was this person a student during 2021?". That should have been a yes, right? How should I fix this? (This form has Yes for part II question 2 to 5 which is right.)

Try answering no that you had no education expenses since they will be claimed by your parents when they claim education credit.

Also be sure that you checked the box saying that someone else can claim you as a dependent.

Hi Bsch4477, I went ahead and manually removed the Student Work Sheet from forms. Is that ok or will it have any side-effects? Thank you.
