You do not need to add the LIVE version. Just the regular Self Employed Version. Are you stuck in LIVE?

Yes I am it won't give me another option. I just want to pay for turbotax deluxe and write out my expenses for being self employed. That is all want to do without having to pay for extra money on top to do that.

Sorry you can only enter self employment income into Deluxe. If you have expenses you need to upgrade to the Self Employed version. You could switch the the Desktop program and use a lower version. All the Desktop programs have the same forms.

Is the desktop version the same as the downloaded version you buy?

Yes you install the Desktop program from either the CD or the download.

You can move your Online file to the Desktop program and continue without paying for Online or needing to reenter your info.
