You may be able to edit your original return. It depends on whether your e-filed return is accepted or rejected.

If your e-filed return is rejected, you'll be able to make any changes and add more information as needed.

If your e-filed return is accepted, you can't make changes to your original return. However, when you receive the refund on your original return, you can amend your return and make the changes as needed.
