    <description>I've claimed her for the past 3 years but when it asks if she makes more than 4300 a year I said yes because her disability check and it saids I cannot claim her but I have for years.</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;If you pay for over half your mom's support and her income is less than $4300&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;---- NOT counting Social Security --- then you can claim her as a dependent.&amp;nbsp; If she is getting Social Security disability you do not count that toward the $4300 limit.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;You only count other income like a pension, investment income, etc. etc. etc.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Social security is not taxable to her so it doesn't count as income for dependency, as long as that is the only income she has.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
