      <description>&lt;P&gt;Yes, you can file &lt;STRONG&gt;jointly &lt;/STRONG&gt;with your wife as a resident.&lt;/P&gt; 
&lt;P&gt;You have completed five calendar years in F1 and you are a resident if you pass the substantial presence test for 2021.&lt;/P&gt; 
&lt;P&gt;You are not considered as a dependent for tax purposes even if you are on CPT and have no income&lt;/P&gt;</description>
