Fees increased on March 1. If you read the tiny print on your packaging it tells you the fee can be changed. You can avoid the state e-file fee if you print and mail the state return. Then all you have to pay for is an envelope and a stamp.

The program showed $20.00 to e-file state return but when I e-filed it charged $25.00

It's illegal to advertise one price and then charge another.

A bunch of stamps . . . It's not the packaging that said it was 20.00 but the page where you select whether to e-file or mail it in. No warning that the price had increased before getting the the payment screen. I could not file before March 1 because not all forms were up to date yet. (or some such error message).

In other words, it's a BAIT & SWITCH if the price is lower before March 1 but you cannot file before

March 1 because the tax forms are not up to date yet.
