      <description>&lt;P&gt;I am using windows version. Everything was fine when I updated the turbo tax home and business version on 04/10/2021, it started to giving me the message “ Looks like your tax file is corrupt, we are having trouble opening your return. Try opening again. if that doesn’t solve the problem, create a new tax return.”&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have created the new .tax2020 file 3 times, still same problem. Be advised my pc is Core i7, 16 GB memory, 1TB SSD. So cut the crap about the PC configuration. I am 100% sure this has happened because of the last update. The IT people messed it up. The IT of the turbo tax is not very efficient; they took huge time to add the new unemployment adjustment. Turbo Tax should hire good IT people. Please fix the mess up.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I am not talking about tax.2019 file. When I am in the middle of filing 2020 Tax return, the turbo Tax save the not submitted Tax return as tax.2020 so that later on we can reopen the return. But when we try to reopen the incomplete return it says the file is corrupted. THE SOFTWARE IT SELF CREATES THE CORRUPT FILE. It was working perfectly just before the update. It can not even transfer tax.2019 file. Please just check the software; don’t just say something without testing. I am using Turbo Tax for the last 8/9 years.       <description>&lt;P&gt;I too am receiving "&lt;STRONG&gt;File Corrupted&lt;/STRONG&gt;"&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I sat down today to begin my taxes. I installed from the DVD purchased at Costco, then allowed the online update to occur.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I created a new return that had nothing but my name in it and saved, then closed TurboTax.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Reopen the just saved file ... &lt;STRONG&gt;FILE CORRUPTED.&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Rinse and repeat 3 more times, same &lt;STRONG&gt;FILE CORRUPTED.&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;I looked at the "*.tax2021" file with a hex editor and saw that it is a ZIP container. I extracted the container contents of 2 files:&amp;nbsp; "xxxx-xxx-xxx-xxx..." proprietary archive and "manifest.xml".&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;XML is structured text. &lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;"manifest.xml" is &lt;/STRONG&gt;NOT&lt;STRONG&gt; text!&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;In any case, After re-installing many times I still get &lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;FILE CORRUPTED.&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;I tried to do an online install instead of using the DVD and TurboTax rejected it because it was already registered. Of course it was registered, I registered it!&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

I've done this with no issues for over 10 years until now. I'm now wondering if in their zeal to implement Intellectual Property (IP) protection mechanisms, TurboTax is performing some kind of direct hardware device access which bypasses the normal Operating System functions. Direct hardware access is not reliable under a VM but there is no good reason for TurboTax to attempt such. Is TurboTax no longer runnable in a VM?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

Now one of my returns I e-filed was rejected, but I can't go back to edit it because I can't open the return do to corrupt file error. WHAT GIVES!?!&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;After the most recent updates I managed to &lt;U&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;almost&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/U&gt; get through my taxes. Apparently the form (8911) necessary for the electric vehicle charger rebate is not yet approved and Turbo Tax says to check again on March 15.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Really, March 15?       <description>&lt;P&gt;i am also having this issue with 2022.&amp;nbsp; had this issue last year and thought by now they would of fixed the **bleep** thing.&amp;nbsp; so mad filled my return but i never got an email saying they received my return so went back in and now the file is corrupt.&amp;nbsp; Tired of this crap.&amp;nbsp; We pay a lot of money for this program.&amp;nbsp; I should of known better to not use it.&amp;nbsp; RRRRRRRRR.&amp;nbsp; again i have to do my taxes over and refile.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;If you have already filed the return, there would be no need to refile.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If the file is corrupt that just affects your opening of the return.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
