If you are eligible to file as head of household you can contact your employer to change your W-4 to have less tax withheld.

If you would qualify a Head of Household, then you may change your status by filing out a new W-4. By changing your status, less would be taken out of your paycheck but you would also get less on your refund. There are qualification required to claim Head of Household including a qualifying dependent, such as a child.

To change the W-4 form, you'll need to either get it from your HR department or download from the IRS. Click here for the form.

Note: Check the Head of Household box only if you’re unmarried and you pay more than half the costs of keeping up a home for yourself and a qualifying individual.

To change your filing status, try following these steps:

Login to Turbo Tax.
On the left side of the screen, click My Info.
Under My info, scroll down and click edit next to your filing status.
