Selection of Standard Deduction

I have purchased the Turbotax Deluxe edition for many years. Last year my deductions were not large enough compared to the standard deduction so I used the standard deduction. It took a lot of data entry to come to this conclusion.

This year I wanted to merely select the standard deduction and not have to enter all of the deductions I had.

There was no option available for me to merely select the standard deduction and move on. I think this is a shortcoming of your product and would appreciate it if this option were available next year.

I will say your product is great and I will continue to use it to prepare my taxes.

If you are filing using Turbo Tax online, you can clear the return and start over to revert back to the standard forms, so you do not have to go through the added work.

Dear Sir,

I had the same issue as it started to try to take me thru all the detailed deduction questions , but I was able to back up a couple screens and select "I'll select the deduction topics I want to view", then I just hit continue and bypassed them all which basically entered zero deductions, and let it pick the Standard Deduction right away.

Agree they could have done this better.
