      <description>&lt;P&gt;Yes, but there are conditions. First, if for the mortgage, you must not only be liable for the debt but actually pay the debt to claim it. The same holds true for property taxes, you must be on the deed and pay the tax.&lt;/P&gt; 
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt; 
&lt;P&gt;If both of you pay and are entitled to claim the deduction, you must both agree for one party to take the deduction.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
