I made a payment of $5199.83 in 2021 for an error on my 2019 federal income taxes. Where do I enter that in Turbo Tax for my income tax return for 2021?

You do not enter it anywhere on your 2021 federal return. Federal tax that you paid is not deductible.

However, some states allow this deduction. Check with your state's Department of Revenue to see if they are one of them.

There are six states that allow you to enter the federal tax you paid on your state return--Alabama, Iowa. Louisiana, Missouri, Montana, and Oregon. If you are filing in one of these states watch for the deduction when you prepare your state return.
