The updates are necessary to keep your program current with recent changes. However, the issue that you are dealing with that is preventing you from e-filing may not have been corrected with the most recent updates. You may have to wait until a future update to have your issue resolved.

Yes, I have the same problem. This is new for 2021, I never had this problem in earlier tax years. I did the manual updates as they have become available, and I'm still unable to file my return. It would be nicer if Intuit tested their updates before they released them, but that may be too much to ask.
