NY IT-653 not working

Form comes up under forms but you cannot create a new form to enter data from PTET.

In the "Forms View", instead of using the form It-653 listed in your left-hand menu try using the "Open Form" icon at the top of your left hand menu. Scroll down to NY, expand the list and find the IT-653. Open that form and you should be able to create a new copy to make your PTET entries.

Unfortunately, that is what I was doing. IT-643 does not appear on teh left at all. I can get to the form using the Open Form icon as you suggest, But the option to "create" a new form is dimmed.

In the "Online" tab at the top of your page, "Check for updates". You might also exit the program and then sign back in to see if that might trigger the form updates.

In the public community setting, we have the form availability information but are not shown why the forms are unavailable until a certain date.

NY IT-653 is still missing as of today 3/18/2022.

The dialog "Add IT-653" appears but does not do anything.

Any update on when this will be fixed?

The form is showing available here on the state forms availability.

If the form is not working, I would suggest running an update on the software by following the instructions here, or completely re-installing your software.

I got the IT-653 created on my personal return after many tries, about 3 weeks ago. But now I cannot do the same on my son's form. Same issue. I get the screen to create a new IT-653 but the "create" box is dimmed

Actually figured it out again. When the create new button is dimmed, there is a blank text box. Type text into the box and the create button becomes workable.

Yes I finally discovered that bit of magic myself. What a ridiculously poor User Interface.

I don't see why the dialog didn't have more clear buttons, for example "New", "Edit" and "Delete" would have been more of a standard User Experience than type Create...

And the text states:

"Select Create to Continue" but there is no Create button.

I thought it was a bug and was prepared to wait for an update but finally unlocked the mystery as you did.
