Rejected return dependent info doesn’t match

Reject Code R0000-504-02

My tax return keeps getting rejected, it says the name of my dependent does not match IRS records. The problem with that is my dependent has been the same for 9 years and the name has never changed. I just had a new baby in December, but I don’t see how that name could be incorrect. Please help!

It is very possible that the new child's name and social security number have not made it from the social security administration computers to the IRS computers yet. Since the IRS will not be processing any returns with the child tax credit on it until after the 15th of this month I suggest waiting and trying again in a week or two and see if their systems have linked up yet.

Having the same issue and I had a new baby in November. Going to try in a few weeks also
