The TurboTax online editions are updated automatically by TurboTax. There is not a way to check for updates on the online editions.

I'm using the online version and when I try to complete my state taxes it says "_your return has a mortgage interest adjustment which will require an update in order to ensure that the calculations are correct. To receive an update, select Check for Updates from the Online menu to connect to our website."

I cannot find the "Online" menu anywhere.

Any ideas?

@DumbQuestionsGalore That sounds like there is a state form required that has not yet been finalized in the TurboTax program.

Check the Review section of the TurboTax program to see if there is a form or schedule listed with a date listed.

In PA state, Schedule D TP, it asks me to check for updates from the online menu. But I am using web (Chrome), so there is no way to follow the instruction. Should I continue without fixing this issue?

With the online version, checking for updates just means to log out and log back in. It will be updated automatically. You won't be able to e-file the PA return until it is updated.

I am unable to file my return electronically, due to needing to update turbotax. I am told to go to the Online menu and select check for updates. Not clear where to locate go to the Online menu. I have a Mac. I have already paid to send the file electronically. If someone can give me a call [phone number removed] to walk me through to update the file that would be greatly appreciated. For 2023 I did use Turbo tax and I had a CD to use which atomically updated the file. TurboTax for 2024 did not have anything asking to update the file for information for 2024. Now that I have completed the return is asking to be update that does not make sense causing this to be not user friendly. Again please have someone to give me a call to help with the updates.

On a Mac---with your TT program open----go up to the little apple on the top left of your Mac screen. Next to it you will see the word TurboTax. Click that and then click the words "check for updates."

Thank you for your quick response to share information to update the 2024 file. Once completed and updated I was able to file my returns last night quickly. I appreciate turbotax for helping out with my issue.
