Use of activation codes

I recently had to reset Windows. I then had to reinstall my TT products. When I went to open 2020 and 2019, I was asked to provide activation codes. I am only aware of needing a code in 2020 and it was a 14 digit code. The 2020 version reinstalled was asking for a 16 digit code, Neither of the applications would accept the "2020" code! I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue and particularly if a code was required for 22019?

2019 had a 14 digit code and the 2020 a 16 digit code ... 2019 was the first year codes were required.

Thank you. I must be very careless because I only have two codes here. The one for 2021 is 16 digit. The only 14 digit code I have carefully saved will not work for my 2019 version!

The link you have sent I have been through many times and that is where my frustration lies! I have not asked for an activation code yet because after getting all the confusion on codes, I uninstalled and reinstalled both 2020 and 2019 and this time I was not asked for a code!
