I am not sure if they will deduct or not. If they do, what would be the next scenario for the child? From my understanding the child has quit their job to do this FT. So it would not be seen as income if the parent paid them?

Thank you

Not sure this is the right sub so I apologize in advanced. A parent has fallen ill and their child has chosen to take them in and care for them full-time for the time being. If the other parent would like to pay them for this what would be the best way to do this in order to report this income. Any advice is appreciated!

Thank you

As long as the paying parent is not deducting those payments there is no tax issue. It is just family helping each other out.
