That does NOT address FEDERAL Income taxes, it just says "California state income tax purposes." There are many many items that are taxed differently by California. Since they did Not mention Federal and they easily could have if they wanted to be helpful, it seems they are hinting that the California Golden State Stimulus IS taxable for Federal purposes.

But who knows ?

Still haven't seen a definitive answer regarding the California Stimulus payment and federal taxes. Is the California Stimulus payment subject to federal taxes. If so, where is it reported in federal tax forms?

You don't report the Golden Stimulus on your return. The stimulus is not taxable on the federal or state return.

The payment is not includible in your gross income. Therefore, you will not include the payment in your taxable income on your federal income tax return or pay income tax on your payment.
