The two tax due windows that were updated with nearly every entry have stopped - even with significant changes. Is this a bug?

you should not expect every data entry to result in additional tax or less tax.

It is not unusual for the refund/tax due "meter", at the top of the screen to "lag" until you complete additional steps, particularly when you go back to change something. Just keep going. It's the end result that matters.
