Need to access previous returns to amend

I need to amend my 2019 and 2018 taxes. I am currently using the free version of TurboTax and I am receiving the message, "Amending a prior year return is not currently supported by IRS Free File Program delivered by TurboTax".

How can I amend my previous returns through turbotax? If I purchase a turbotax program, will I be granted access to amending them?

You would have to purchase the TurboTax program for each year. Create the return in TurboTax exactly as you put it into FreeFile.

Then tell TurboTax that you printed and mailed the return. After that you can do the amend, print it, sign it, attach any documents needed, and mail it in.

It might be easier and less expensive to just take the returns to a brick and mortar income tax preparer and ask what it would cost for them to do the amend for you.
