TurboTax sent me an email saying "Your 2018 New York Personal Extension has been rejected" with error R0170. TurboTax claims to help me fix this, but how?

Your 2018 New York Personal Extension has been rejected
Dear TurboTax customer:

This happens from time to time, but we’ll help you fix it.

What happened?

R0170 - The primary ID was either invalid, or could not be verified at this time. New York Department of Finance was unable to verify the taxpayer's SSN at the time of submission.

What does this mean?

Make sure you submit a new extension application before the filing deadline.

Ok TurbotTax, since you have my back and promise to help me fix it, please tell me how. Your email was sent after the filing deadline, and you don't even give me the option to file an extension anymore.

Here is how to fix your rejected extension:

1. Select the orange Fix my Extension link in your email.

2. Sign in to TurboTax Online.

3. Once you've signed in, select Fix my extension.
