If you have forgotten your login information and no longer have access to the email address or phone number you used, please follow these steps:

1. Click here

2. Click on “I forgot my User ID or password” at the bottom

3. On the next screen, do not enter anything in the box, click on “Try something else” at the bottom

4. Fill in the required information on the following screens

By following the above steps TurboTax will take you through security questions If you are able to answer these questions, you will be granted access to your old TurboTax account without needing access to your old email address…

Once in the account, click on “My Account” then “Account Settings”, from here you will be able to update your address.

If you still aren’t able to get into your account after following the steps above, please click here to fill out E-mail Change Request for your TurboTax Account.

My phone number has changed, so I cannot receive a verification code to sign in. The recover account form requires an old and new email. They cannot be the same. Cannot leave that line blank. I want to change my phone number, not my email address. I go round and round and getting very frustrated. HELP!

If you can successfully sign into your TurboTax account and only want to update your phone number, follow the instructions listed in the TurboTax FAQ, How do I update my TurboTax account information?

If you are unable to sign into your account because you no longer have access to the phone number linked to your TurboTax account, update your information using the form on the following page: Account Recovery Request for your TurboTax Account.

The Online system is not operational until sometime soon when the 2020 program opens up ... at that time you can log in and change your information ... there are 3 ways to log in ... use the correct password, text to phone or other ... one of them will get you in.

You have to sign onto your 2019 online account using the exact same user ID you used to create the 2019 online account.

Close all TurboTax windows on your web browser (including this one). Copy and paste the account recovery website link onto a new web browser window and run the tool.

Use this TurboTax account recovery website to get a list of all the user ID's for an email address. Run the tool against any email addresses you may have used - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/account-recovery

If none of the user ID's received will access your 2019 account, then use the option shown in blue on the account recovery website, "Try something else"

If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created. TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.

To access your prior year tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the userID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents click on Show. Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)
