Why did my temporary working from home considered a business?

It may have been the way in which you were paid. Did you have income that was reported to you on Form 1099-MISC? If so, this type of income, especially with amounts in Box 7, generally generates self-employment income which will prompt TurboTax to ask you questions about your business.
