topic Taxes in Get your taxes done using TurboTax

So, I already received my refund and filed my taxes before the new bill was passed. I did have wages taken out form my job and also had over 12,000 in unemployment as well. And had like 1,400 taken out for unemployment. How do they figure out if I get a refund? I’m confused because I plugged in all my numbers again in the tax calculator and it tells me I’m not even getting bsck what I already received. How is that possible? 10,200 is not taxable and I had taxes taken out. Will I owe now? I have 3 dependents also who live with me..

Here is why you do NOT amend your return for unemployment:

Please read this very recent news from the IRS:

https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/irs-to-recalculate-taxes-on-unemployment-benefits-refunds-to-start-in-may

I didn’t amend anything I just used the free calculator thing to see if it wld show a higher amount than what I already received since 10200 isn’t taxable now and I already had taxes taken out for it

Hello,

The IRS will automatically make the necessary adjustments to everyone's account. You should receive a notice and/or a refund. These IRS adjustments will begin mid May through the summer. No amended tax return is necessary.
