Where’s my refund

I filed my taxes on 2/12/21 and got approved on 2/13/21 but why is it when I use the where’s my refund app it says that it’s still processing?

The IRS issues most refunds from e-filed returns in about 21 days, although some returns take more time to review. If does not mean there is something wrong with your return.

@npierson7 It’s been over 21 days. How long can they make me wait? Is there a way to find out what’s the hold up?

Your return might take longer time to process if it:

Includes errors
Is incomplete
Is affected by identity theft or fraud
Includes a claim filed for an Earned Income Tax Credit or an Additional Child Tax Credit.
Includes a Form 8379, Injured Spouse Allocation PDF, which could take up to 14 weeks to process
Needs further review in general.

The IRS will contact you by mail when they need more information to process your return.
