Recovery rebate credit

Turbotax indicates that we are eligible for more of the first and second stimulus payments, but the extra payment is not showing up on Form 1040, Line 30 "Recovery rebate credit"

What are we doing wrong?

Did you enter the amount of stimulus you actually received? There are two steps to the Recovery Rebate Credit (RRC).

TurboTax will show you what you should receive
TurboTax will ask whether you actually got those amounts
If not, TurboTax will ask you to enter your actual payments and include the difference as an RRC on line 30 of Form 1040.

In TurboTax Online, to get to the Recovery Rebate Credit section

Type stimulus in Search in the upper right
Click jump to stimulus
Say YES or NO to It looks like you qualified for the stimulus, did you get any payments?
If you said YES TurboTax will show you the check amounts you were supposed to get.
If that's correct say YES. If not say NO.
If you say NO, enter the actual payment amounts you received.

I followed the procedure you outline - the difference did not show up on 1040 line 30.

Perhaps a bust in the Turbotax software?

TurboTax has a known issue with this for some people. Here is a link to information about this and a place to sign up to be notified when this is fixed.
