      <description>&lt;P&gt;It's not that simple.&amp;nbsp;Did you receive Unemployment Comp in 2020?&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;SPAN&gt;New York has yet to adopt the federal government’s exemption on the first $10,200 in unemployment payments,&amp;nbsp; so you need to add that back to your Federal AGI.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;$21,919 + 10,200 =&amp;nbsp; $32,119&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;$32,119 - 8,000 = $24,119&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;NYS also has a number of other additions and subtractions.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Ah! That makes sense! Thank you!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;It's also confusing because, I tried it out on H&amp;amp;R Block and it calculated the NYS taxes with the federal exemption on the first 10,200. So, if NYS hasn't adopted it yet, I wonder how long that would take.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
