E-file stopped asking for more information.

E-file stopped then - asking for more information. Wants SS numbers of interest paying loan reciepants. SS numbers are not available. Tried putting NA in and nnn-nn-nnnn. Turbo Tax will not accept.

Same problem last year and had to mail returns in.

What type of return are you filing: Personal? Business?

You need those to efile. Or, you can ask those individuals to get free EIN's on the IRS website.

The IRS wants their SSN's to verify any deductions that they take for, say, mortgage interest. The government also wants to make sure these are bona-fide loans (especially if among family members or friends), and not gifts.

A few years ago, I sold my house and issued a short term mortgage to the buyer. All I needed was an EIN to keep the IRS happy re both of us.
