what is on Line 30 of Form 1040? if you received the correct amount of stimulus (the 1st two payments), the this line should be zero.

I have seen other posts that there may have been a bug that impacted those that submitted their tax return on or before Feb 12

Save a PDF of your return WITH the worksheets to see what you entered for the stimulus advance payments and see the calculation for line 30 of the form 1040. If you got all the stimulus in advance then that line should have a zero on it. If it has $1200 then the IRS corrected the error.

Thank you, Critter! It looks like IRS corrected the error. I've been using turbotax for 25 years and nary a mistake before now. I wonder what went wrong this time. Thanks again.

The early screens in that section were a bit confusing ... many folks had errors on that screen.

Yes, happened to me also. Line 30 (and therefore line 32) contains the $1200. I am a little (ok, a lot) upset because now I owe IRS $1200 more. I think Turbo Tax needs to rebate us something for this error. Yes, I understand I owe the government what I owe, but how about a free version of 2021 for our troubles?

By the way, it looks like they corrected it with the latest update. I checked my previous filed forms with what Turbo Tax now says and they have fixed it. Still a nuisance. I vote that we get a free copy of 2021 for our troubles. Errors in tax software should not happen.
