Pershing NetXInvestor 1099 Import

I am having trouble importing my 1099. I was able to import it last week but there was information missing. Specifically it wanted me to categorize 87 stock transactions as long/short, covered/noncovered. I deleted the import hoping that there would soon be a fix. Now when it try to import my 1099 it says that nothing is available to import. I clearly see my 2020 1099 on the NetXInvestor site.

I have experienced the same issue. All transactions imported but are not coded. Please rectify this ASAP!

I am having this same issue. I have tried importing several times, but it looks like a bug in the turbotax software. It is also proving very difficult to get through to intuit's support folks :(

I contacted them and they told me everything was working on their end. I think they are wrong. I have never had this issue before and have used TurboTax for 20 years and Pershing for 5. I sure wish someone would address this or at least acknowledge the issue.

You may have to manually import the 1099's. Please see this TurboTax FAQ: What if I can't import my 1099?

Thanks for the response Jeanne, but this is a bug that needs to get fixed. Imports from NetX/Pershing worked in previous years, but not this year. Thanks.

In addition, NetX/Pershing is listed as one of your partner financial companies that support imports. It wouldn't make sense that we need to manually input our 1099. If the problem isn't with TurboTax then please reach out to Pershing to fix the problem on their end because it isn't working as it is supposed to.

I just got off the phone with TurboTax. They said that all 1099B stock transactions will need to be manually categorized this year. They are NOT working on a fix for this but are aware this is a problem. They told me they didn't consider it an integral feature of their software just a "feature" to make filing your taxes easier. I know, but I am quoting their representative. Looks like I will be looking for a new tax software provider. Bummer because I have all my historical data with them that makes things so much simpler. If you are having this issue, I urge you to contact TurboTax so they realize the magnitude of this problem.

Thanks for persisting and getting through to someone.

This is very frustrating news indeed. The whole point of buying this software, and this expensive of a version version, is for filling in all the 1099 info. This is unfortunately going to take a very long time for many, many people as a good percentage of us have many pages of transactions on our 1099's. This is something we certainly shouldn't have to do.

You can enter just summaries of your transactions. If there are noncovered transactions, you will have to upload a pdf of the transactions. But everything else the IRS already has. TurboTax will guide you through the process.

Enter Summary in lieu of Individual Transactions

My transactions include wash sales so I am not able to report summaries. I have never had to do this in the past and have yet to receive an explanation from TurboTax as to why this is required this year. If it is a bug in the software then why can't it be fixed?

Exactly what I'm doing this year because of this issue (yes, to me it is an issue because I'm not looking to manually update hundreds of entries when the data is clearly on the 1099). Good advice!

I just applied the latest updates for turbotax and it looks like the bug has been fixed and the categories are now being parsed correctly. Finally!

There is, however another bug. I get a semi-blank 1099 in addition to the correct one, that is full of missing data (the check before filing says I had over 3300 errors in it that needed attention, and bogged down the application for a couple minutes!). As this is a bogus entry, I just deleted it and things seem better now.

Darn! I categorized all my transactions this week by hand and e-filed. I guess they didn't want to give me false hope that they were working on a fix. Great news for those who haven't filed yet.

Instead of choosing "NetXInvestor" or "Pershing", I chose "Securian Financial Services" and was FINALLY able to connect my account. Hope this works for you! @yecart

Unfortunately, I haven't got to the issues mentioned here. I can't seem to get past the sign on process... I select the option I've used in the past, then enter the same information I use to sign into NetXInvestor.com. TurboTax accepts the information and brings up a dialogue box telling me it is attempting to establish a secure connection, then it leaves me on the sign data screen. No error message, no panel movement, just stuck on the same screen. Anyone else having this issue?

My suspicion is that you are trying too early to file. I called a week ago and they said Pershing wouldn't be available for import until mid March. I suggest you hold off until then. Last year I entered everything manually and then they fixed all bugs mid March.
