A consolidated form 1099 received from your brokerage firm is basically several forms rolled into one document:

Form 1099-B - stock transactions

Form 1099-DIV - dividends paid

Form 1099-INT - interest paid

Form 1099-OID - Original Issue Discount

Form 1099-MISC- Reports other type of income (unusual)

To enter information from the 1099-DIV, 1099-INT, and 1099-OID sections:

Click on Federal Taxes > Wages & Income. [In TT Home & Biz: Personal > Personal Income > I’ll choose what I work on.]

Scroll down to the Interest and Dividends section and click on the Start/Revisit box next to appropriate category.

Enter the information and continue through the rest of the interview.

To enter information from the 1099-B section:

You'll enter this under the Federal Taxes tab (or Personal, if working in TurboTax Self-Employed/Home & Business), then select Wages & Income, then Investment Income, then Stocks, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other. Follow the prompts to enter the 1099-B information.

Alternatively, if you search for the 1099-B and click on the Jump to link, it will also start the interview on that.

To enter Form 1099-DIV, open your return, search for 1099-DIV, in the search box and select the Jump-to link at the top of your search results. Follow the prompts on the screen where you can enter your dividend income.

Then do the same steps for Form 8949.

Here is a Turbotax article about Form 1099-DIV and Form 8949.

Good info, but what about the 1099-MISC from the consolidated 1099? Where do I enter that into ttax? If I simply say "add a 1099-misc" it takes me down a rabbit hole of setting up a biz for this income, when there's no biz here.

Enter 1099 Misc in the Other Common Income section. Enter the details as you see it printed on your form, then continue to answer the follow up questions regarding what kind of income you are reporting.
