topic .taxbak files in Get your taxes done using TurboTax

Turbo Tax appears to have generated 102 (so far) random".taxbak" files in the folder containing my Turbo Tax ".tax2018" return. Why are they there? Do I need them? Can I delete them?

I have th same question never had these before shave Beene using Turbo Tax for over 10 years and never saw these files can I delete. ?
